CRILLON TOURS, A SUCCESSFUL HISTORY

When our visionary Chairman, Mr. Darius Morgan founded Crillon Tours -as a Ground Operator in 1958 and starting the Hydrofoil service on Lake Titicaca in 1966, he was opening to the world one the most wonderful natural attractions of the Andes, becoming the pioneer of Incoming Tourism in Bolivia.

Over five decades have passed by and the second generation of the Morgan family has understood that in order to keep our leadership, we must always be a step forward of the continuous global changes and emerging trends, but also walking side by side with the current process of changes in Bolivia.

We have integrated our visitors with our unique and authentic cultural programs, proving in this way that this interaction with indigenous communities, has become an unforgettable intercultural experience, based on mutual respect.

Being a pioneer is a great challenge that we have assumed with a very strong commitment. The road to success is paved with a lot of courage, but also with nice anecdotes.

Movies and television stars, famous writers, members of royalty, presidents, Nobel Prize winners, important politicians, the Church hierarchy, journalists, sports figures, singers, and some characters from the jet set, have experienced the professionalism of Crillon Tours, letting us unforgettable memories.

In all these years, we have witnessed profound social and political changes, both locally and internationally. It has been also a real challenge to avoid this impact to customers and visitors. South America has experienced several decades of social disturbs, but Bolivia has not suffered from the tourism exclusion, thanks to the careful and appropriate handling of information we have given our international Tour Operators.

We count with 146 outstanding employees - both in La Paz and Lake Titicaca, highly trained, supported by a sophisticated technology which allows them to work as a team. We take care of our human capital and they are updated with general information, including new trends, technology and prospecting new circuits.

Our 35 bilingual guides in more than eight languages have been strictly selected and we train them in history, geography, economy, archaeology & anthropology, conflict management, institutional life in Bolivia, ethics, world & local culture, art, first aid, emergencies and much other specific knowledge’s.
